Throat Chanters

I heard the Throat Chanters at a circumpolar conference atteded by Eskimos from Greenland, the USSR, Canada, and Alaska. The women, from a remote village in Canada, stood with their mouths only inches apart, chanting. The sounds reverberated off each other's vocal chords, creating a strange echo or hollow sound, not unlike chanting through a long metal pipe. I represented their extraordinary music here with shapes and colors.
