Andy is the star of the book, "Andy, an Alaskan Tale" written by Susan Welsh Smith and illustrated by Rie Munoz.

The story takes place in an Inuit village in Alaska's NW Arctic, Noatak. Andy flies in one day with the mail plane to live with the schoolteachers. He becomes the much loved companion of the local children who have never seen anything like him before.
